Our products have an 18-24 month shelf life from time of manufacture.
Our items will have the Best By date listed in one of two ways:
1. A black, ink-printed date on the front of the bag, along the right side. This shows the month, day and year.
2. A small, white sticker on the back or bottom. This shows only the month and year, so "12/2026" would be best by December of 2026.

Humidity and oxygen exposure are two of the biggest factors affecting the "freshness" of products that have been opened.
Our products do best when stored in a dry, cool area, sealed in the container or pouch they come in. Alternatively, you may store them in an airtight container of your own.
Some customers have also told us that they store a week's worth of treats in a zipper storage bag and keep the rest in the original packaging. They feed from the zipper storage bag and only open the original package when they need to refill the storage bag.

Our packages are all weighed before sealing to ensure the proper amounts are included in each bag. We fully guarantee this for all of our products!
If your bag seems more/less full than usual, it is likely due to natural variances in ingredient size and density.
This is because our Papa Psuka, Papa Kitala and Waksa treats are made from natural cuts- not ground and reformed. The nature of natural ingredients like this means that the size and density of the finished treats you receive can vary from batch to batch and from bag to bag.
For example, some beef lungs are more dense than others and will yield pieces that are heavier than normal, making a bag of Papa Psuka or Papa Kitala look emptier than usual.
Similarly, some sweet potatoes are smaller than others and will yield pieces that are smaller than others.
If you believe your unopened bag of treats does not match the proper "net weight" printed on the package, please contact RJ@KodaPet.com today so we can make it right for you!
